At Tada Plastic Industry, we conducted a comparative experiment on the water absorption properties of rigid urethane and glass wool. Fiber-based insulation materials (glass wool) have high vapor permeability and moisture retention, and they absorb water and sink when placed in water. At Tada Plastic Industry, we perform undercut processing on undercut-shaped parts using molds in injection molding. Typically, if a product has undercuts, it cannot be molded with a standard top and bottom mold. Usually, undercut shapes are designed using inclined pins, but in cases where cost is a concern or a slight height is acceptable, undercuts may be used. The mold is divided into convex and concave parts surrounding the molded product. The convex part is called the core, and the concave part is called the cavity; the core is referred to as the male mold, and the cavity as the female mold. When the cavity and core come together, a hollow space is created, and by injecting plastic into that hollow space, the molded product is completed. The cavity is designed with a slope to facilitate the easy removal of the molded product from the mold. Therefore, the moment the mold opens, the molded product will separate from the cavity. When the mold opens, the molded product sticks to the core. After the mold is fully opened, the molded product on the core side is pushed out by a pin that extracts it from the mold.
