Meiji challenges new possibilities for cacao! Announcing the lifestyle brand "CACAO STYLE" that creates new value for cacao, featuring upcycled products effectively utilizing cacao husks co-created with external partners from different industries. New products will be released sequentially starting June 28 nationwide. Hishika Sangyo's MIRAIWOOD is a material created from upcycled waste wood and other materials, producing recyclable plant-based plastics while reducing petroleum components by over 70%. The products announced under "CACAO STYLE" include a sleeve with a handle for paper cups called "CACAO Cafe Sleeve," a snack box named "CACAO Canister," and a collaboration with traditional crafts called "Bonbonnière."

Wood chips are upcycled into an alternative material to plastic. This new material, developed over two years in collaboration with Tokyo and Kawase Resin Industry, is created by combining wood chips generated during the bat manufacturing process with biodegradable plastic. It is characterized by its heat resistance and ease of processing, and can be made into items such as dishes, spoons, and forks, which are also dishwasher safe. This material is attracting significant attention in light of the new law, the "Plastic Resource Circulation Promotion Act," which aims to reduce plastic use and will come into effect in April.

Our newly developed material "MIRAIWOOD" has been introduced by Kyodo News! The new material "MIRAIWOOD" uses 51% waste wood generated from baseball bat manufacturing, combined with biodegradable resin, and has obtained the biomass mark 70. Products made from this material are classified as wooden products. It is heat-resistant, easy to process, and can be widely used for tableware, spoons, forks, and more, featuring the unique texture and feel of wood powder. With a new law requiring companies to reduce plastic set to take effect in April, there has been a surge in inquiries. We encourage you to consider it as an alternative material to plastic.
