We will hold a free online conference titled "Considering the Future of Manufacturing Talent and Organizations in the DX Era" on February 8, 2024 (Thursday). We are pleased to invite Professor Takahiro Fujimoto from Waseda University and Emeritus Professor at the University of Tokyo, Mr. Tohru Sakai from Kawasaki Heavy Industries Aerospace Systems Company, and Mr. Hideo Ishida, Director of Japan Management Association Consulting. They will share approaches and case studies to shape the future of manufacturing talent and organizations, providing practical insights for everyone. ■ Theme ■ Recently, due to a serious labor shortage and young people's disengagement from manufacturing, the inheritance of technology is at risk. At the same time, the manufacturing environment is undergoing significant transformation, necessitating the maintenance and strengthening of on-site capabilities. To achieve this and aim for further profit improvement, a strong on-site presence that is not influenced by external environments is essential, and we believe that the key lies in "people" and "organizations." With the theme of "Unleashing the Potential of Manufacturing Talent and Organizations through On-Site DX," we hope to present know-how and case studies from experts and leaders in manufacturing companies, providing hints for practical implementation on-site.

In many manufacturing sites, skill and competency management is conducted, and systems are established to visualize, manage, and operate employee skills. However, in reality, we often hear voices such as: - Competency management is being conducted for ISO purposes, but it is not being utilized beyond that and has become a mere formality. - The granularity and evaluation criteria of skill maps, which are the core of competency management, are inconsistent and not in a usable state. - There is a desire to utilize it for cross-organizational human resource development and allocation, but there is uncertainty about how to proceed. In this seminar, we will introduce three key points for conducting effective competency management that does not become a formality, aimed at those who want to start competency management or review their current operations to utilize competency data for human resource development and reallocation in the manufacturing industry. We will share points on competency management that can be continuously operated with an eye toward human resource development and reallocation in manufacturing sites.
