Our company is engaged in the manufacturing of machine-made washi paper. We can produce paper ranging from 20 grams to about 130 grams. We use a variety of raw materials according to different applications, from 100% pulp paper to those made with rayon and synthetic fibers. Recently, we have been actively working with recycled materials. One of these initiatives is our involvement in the Origami Crane Recycling Project. Every year, 10 million origami cranes, weighing a total of 10 tons, are sent to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The reality is that these cranes, representing people's feelings, are often disposed of by incineration, leaving those sentiments without a place to go. The "Origami Crane Recycling Project" aims to improve this situation, even if just a little. In 2011, an initiative by the city of Hiroshima began to elevate the peace sentiments embedded in the origami cranes. Cranes that had been stored in warehouses were recycled, allowing them to be reborn. Our company is committed to giving new life to these origami cranes by recycling them into washi paper, thereby spreading the message of peace from Hiroshima throughout Japan and the world, and passing it on to future generations.
