"Barium sulfate" generally refers to the powdered form of the mineral barite, commonly known as natural barite, which is the ground product of barium sulfate (barite powder) and precipitated barium sulfate produced through chemical reactions. Due to its high specific gravity and its physical and chemical stability, it is widely used as an industrial raw material and inorganic filler in paints, plastics, and more.
