The "FLEXI Beam Shaper" is a diffractive optical element (DOE) that allows for variable adjustment of the intensity ratio between the spot (center) and the ring (surrounding area). The propagating beam is shaped by rotating two diffractive optical elements (DOE) arranged along the optical axis, transforming it from a spot (up to 100%) to a concentric ring (approximately 80%). Sill Optics has developed two types of lenses for ion trap experiments: one for "observation purposes" and another for "applications combining laser focusing and observation systems." These lenses can be adapted for high NA and specific wavelengths (from UV to IR). In a vacuum cryostat (ultra-low temperature refrigerator), the dimensions (such as window thickness) vary.
