Black dyeing treatment is a surface treatment that chemically generates a black oxide film known as magnetite (Fe₃O₄) on the surface of iron, aimed at improving rust resistance and appearance. Features and Benefits of Black Dyeing <Extremely small dimensional changes> The black dyeing film is very thin, so it hardly alters the precision or dimensions of the parts. <Excellent rust prevention due to superior oil retention> The greatest strength of black dyeing is its ability to retain rust-preventive oil due to the structure of the film. This oil retention capability produces excellent rust prevention effects. Most effective applications Due to this characteristic, black dyeing is particularly suitable for products that are frequently handled or require maintenance, such as: - Jigs and tools - Machine parts (cutting tools, gauges, etc.) However, the rust prevention capability of the oxide film itself is limited, and rust can easily occur if rust-preventive oil is not applied. In addition to corrosion prevention, there are several reasons why zinc plating is chosen. <Affordability> Zinc plating is a cost-effective method because it is cheaper than using other metal platings. <Excellent secondary processability> Due to its ductility and high adhesion, it allows for processes such as forming and rubber bonding after plating. It also serves as an excellent base for painting. <Improved appearance> Zinc produces a shiny metallic finish. Additionally, colors can be added during post-processing to customize the appearance of the finished product. <Environmentally friendly> Zinc plating can be easily stripped, allowing for re-plating in case of rust on the plating film or forming errors. We handle "zinc-nickel alloy plating." By co-depositing nickel with zinc plating, we achieve 4 to 5 times the corrosion resistance compared to standard zinc plating. We have adopted a high-nickel type, which is increasingly popular worldwide, and after conducting a salt spray test for 1,000 hours with zinc-nickel alloy plating plus trivalent chromate treatment, no rust occurred on the base iron.
