An Iwate veneer manufacturer producing jointed veneer up to 2,424 mm (approx. 8 shaku) long, all in-house.
Rinzai Co., Ltd. is a veneer manufacturer based in Kuji City, Iwate Prefecture, Japan, producing natural wood veneer (sliced veneer). Using hardwoods sourced both domestically and internationally as our main raw material, we handle the entire process in-house — from jointing/lamination, to slicing, to drying. Our particular specialty is "jointed veneer" (block-jointed veneer). We join sawn lumber pieces together, extending them to the required length according to the pattern layout specified for the finished product — such as flooring or tabletops — and press them into a block before slicing. This allows us to select only the defect-free sections of the wood for the veneer, and to supply long veneer sheets up to 2,424 mm (approx. 8 shaku) in length. Our facilities include 2 m and 3 m slicers, two rotary lathes, three jointing (laminating) presses, and two high-frequency dryers, allowing us to manufacture according to customers' requirements for species, pattern, and dimensions. Our main customers are major building materials manufacturers, and our veneer is used as the surface material for residential flooring, and as the decorative surface for stair treads and posts/pillars. Our veneer is also used for wood-based food containers. We welcome inquiries ranging from small-lot trial production to full-scale mass production.
