Adopted for a project on the promotion, demonstration, and commercialization of advanced wastewater treatment facilities using the Indian national rotary fiber unit, a pilot plant with a capacity of 1000 m³/day will be constructed within a wastewater treatment facility in Bengaluru, South India. Verification will be conducted for one year starting from June 1, 2023, and will conclude on May 31, 2024. Throughout the year, all of India's stringent discharge standards will be met, and a wastewater treatment manual will be created and promoted in India.

The Japan Sewage Works Agency (JS) is actively utilizing new technologies to meet the diverse needs of local governments in the sewage business. To facilitate the smooth introduction of new technologies into contracted construction projects, we operate the "New Technology Introduction System." Recently, under this system, we have newly selected the following three technologies as New Technology Category I. Technology Name: Pretreatment Technology for OD Method Using Rotating Fiber Body Developer: JS, Toshiba Infrastructure Systems Corporation Recipient of Technology Selection: Toshiba Infrastructure Systems Corporation Selection Date: March 28, 2025, New Technology Category I Selection Overview: This is a type of biological membrane method using a three-dimensional mesh rotating fiber body, which reduces the organic load in sewage, thereby enhancing treatment capacity and achieving energy savings for the OD method pretreatment technology. *Note: Integrated into Toshiba Corporation (name change) from April 1, 2025.

The Japan Sewerage Business Association and our partner, Toshiba Infrastructure Systems Corporation, conducted joint research from April 2023 to March 2024 at the Ujiie Water Treatment Center (sewage treatment plant) in Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture, using our wastewater treatment equipment for the purpose of energy conservation and increasing processing capacity.
