Efficiently operate scan data 【Cimatron ECO】

It enables the import of various analyzed data into the CAD environment, allowing that data to be applied to complex mold mechanism assemblies without stress.

Cimatron has a rare capability to directly modify STL data, allowing mesh (point cloud) data with quality issues to be imported into a CAD environment. Additionally, the ECO function distinguishes itself from other systems by enabling users to identify only the truly necessary changes when searching for modifications that affect multiple models. It is also possible to compare mesh data (including point clouds) exported from advanced analytical software with product data due to recent technological innovations. Specifically, it can check overall shrinkage (confirmation of thin areas), product dimension tolerances, and defects such as sink marks and warping, and it has the ability to reflect only the modifications within the product correction model into the latest mold data without stress. A notable feature of Cimatron's ECO function is its ability to directly reflect design changes into the latest mold data. While many other CAD software also have comparison functions, the ability to compare modification data with mold data, accurately detect changes, and directly reflect those changes into the mold data is unique to Cimatron. The ECO function also has measures in place to address potential issues (history errors) inherent in its parametric functionality.

3D CAD/CAM compatible with hail processing 【Cimatron】

It is attracting attention as a 3D CAM that can control the tool path of a specialized bit tool for 3D surfaces.

We received the elliptical vibration device from Taga Electric for Yasuda Industries' high-precision 5-axis YBM machine and challenged ourselves to achieve the ultimate mirror finish processing. In the processing that controls micron-level downsteps in 5-axis machining, we have been implementing hairline processing on various 3D curved surfaces. While pursuing convenience for our customers, we have been gradually achieving results. Additionally, a new simulation function for checking interference has been developed in Cimatron, further enhancing its usability. We have become capable of accommodating a wide range of processing materials and shapes. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.

3D CAD/CAM compatible with 5-axis machining 【Cimatron】

We are responding to various requests that should meet a wide range of diverse needs, sincerely addressing inquiries from various manufacturers, and continuing to challenge ourselves with 5-axis machining.

The demand for precision in products is increasing, and their shapes are becoming more complex. Meeting these product needs has become difficult with just a single system. To break through this situation, we are focusing on collaboration with various manufacturers, including Cimatron users. The challenge of seeking opportunities in new areas through forward-looking initiatives is what enhances the value of Cimatron supported by Seiro. We have created a video showcasing the processing efforts in collaboration with Ultra Sonic equipment from Taga Electric, high-precision machinery from Yasuda Industries, tools from Tungaloy, and holders from MST. Please take a look.

Four companies come together to achieve stable 5-axis machining【Cimatron】.

Cimatron achieved efficient 5-axis machining by securely fixing the workpiece on the OKK machine with a Nabeya vice and using Tungaloy tools.

Cimatron's stock recognition supports multi-axis models using 3D meshes. It is updated not only for 3-axis machining but also for positioning/simultaneous 5-axis machining. This results in a very smooth process with minimal air cutting, making it highly beneficial for multi-axis machining. It boasts high precision when setting up tools, shanks, holders, as well as components and fixtures that make up the machine for interference checks in simulations. Furthermore, it ensures safety when converting trajectories created for 3-axis machining to tilt transformations or 5-axis trajectories. With a wealth of applications, it also offers robust semi-automatic support for creating 5-axis trajectories. Cimatron enables efficient 5-axis machining while ensuring high safety standards.

Examples of Utilizing Point Cloud Scan Data 【Cimatron】

To proactively mitigate the risk of defects through the analysis system, we propose effective operational methods for the output mesh data.

A common issue when handling analysis data is that the data quality output from analysis software is not guaranteed. Therefore, in many cases, modifications on the CAD software side are necessary. Cimatron, being a CAD/CAM software developed by 3D Systems, the creator of STL, has a high affinity for STL data and possesses a mechanism that allows collaboration regardless of the analysis software manufacturer. For example, with point cloud data, it is possible to specify the edge length of the triangular mesh and convert it into mesh surface data, allowing for partial addition or deletion of facets while ensuring a certain level of accuracy. In areas where you want to maintain curves, it is also possible to use splines to preserve smooth curves. Furthermore, since it is possible to integrate the modeled shape with the mesh, the range of applications expands. The completed data can be directly used to create NC machining programs, and it is also possible to make model modifications while comparing with the original model.
