CNC machining produces individual parts from block materials through mechanical processing. Wire cutting is a technique that uses electric current flowing through brass wire to cut metal. It can accommodate fine processing, such as thin fins, which cannot be done with CNC. Both methods are suitable for small-scale production. When manufactured in Japan, expensive CNC machining and wire cutting can be kept at low costs when produced overseas. With relatively short lead times, these methods are ideal for cases where only a few prototypes are needed. Advantages: Production is possible from a single piece. We will consider orders for prototypes or small quantities.

This is a processing method for shaping metal materials at room temperature without heating, using molds. It is capable of producing items with a higher aspect ratio than extrusion molding. Since the material is processed at high density, the thermal conductivity slightly increases. There are size constraints on the processed products. Although the mold costs are higher than those for extrusion, there is still a significant cost advantage compared to domestic products due to overseas production (suitable for mass production). Advantages: The thermal conductivity slightly increases because the material is processed at high density. Mass production is possible, and the unit price of the products decreases as the quantity increases.

I have heard that this method was developed by a Japanese manufacturer over 20 years ago, but currently, many factories in Taiwan and China are implementing it in their own specialized ways. The products processed by Japanese manufacturers had fins that were wavy like "shavings," but in China and Taiwan, they have devised ways to make the fins straight (suitable for small to medium production). Advantages: Since the base and fins are integrated, there is no loss of heat transfer. Processing of copper materials is also possible. Compared to extruded products, it allows for narrow pitch, high fins, and production in small quantities.

It also supports precise CNC processing (such as drilling, threading, and milling)! It is possible to process to fin heights that cannot be achieved by extrusion.
