Free membership registration**Lecture Summary** Much of the unused energy, such as solar energy and industrial waste heat, is unstable, unevenly distributed, and exists in a diluted form. Therefore, energy storage becomes a crucial technology for effectively utilizing these resources. In this lecture, we will first focus on technologies for storing heat, particularly those that efficiently store heat by utilizing phase changes in materials (melting/freezing), and we will gently explain the fundamental concepts, including the social background. Next, we will introduce application examples and research and development trends in phase change thermal storage. Additionally, we will discuss methods and application examples for effectively utilizing the phenomenon of supercooling, which allows materials to remain in a liquid state below their melting point, as a means to enhance the functionality of phase change thermal storage.

Free membership registration**[Lecture Summary]** With the globalization of corporate activities, it is necessary to respond not only to domestic laws but also to global regulations. A regulation similar to Japan's Chemical Substances Control Law is the EU REACH regulation, which has its first registration deadline on November 30, and the notification under the CLP regulation will begin in December. Outside the EU, there is the China REACH law (Measures for the Environmental Management of New Chemical Substances), which is modeled after the EU REACH regulation, and in Taiwan, the registration of existing substances will begin in June. There are also movements to revise TSCA from a hazard-based to a risk-based approach. GHS and MSDS have subtle differences between countries, and companies are likely struggling to respond efficiently. In this lecture, we will organize this situation, explain the differences, and outline key points for corporate responses based on commonalities.

Free membership registration[Purpose of the Lecture] In traditional FMEA seminars, standards such as QS9000 and ISO, as well as corporate quality management, have been listed, with the aim of completing and managing FMEA forms. However, this seminar completely eliminates those elements. Additionally, within companies, there are burdensome FMEA rules and obligations that weigh heavily on young engineers. This is referred to as "FMEA of the slide rule era," which has become a hollow and ineffective FMEA. What engineers struggling in the development field desire is not the rules and obligations of "FMEA," but its effective utilization. Therefore, unless FMEA is enjoyable, less burdensome, visibly reduces troubles, and doubles development efficiency, it will never be accepted by young engineers. This seminar focuses on the effective use of the new FMEA, "3D-FMEA," and emphasizes Q&A and group work. The instructor, as a design consultant, engages with development teams in various companies to provide practical guidance on FMEA. Through the know-how gained here, abundant "artisan skills" will be imparted.
