SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) refers to the specific absorption rate of electromagnetic wave energy applied to certain parts of the human body. SAR testing includes Head SAR testing for the head and Body SAR testing for the torso (excluding the head). Initially, the main testing focused on Head SAR testing for electromagnetic wave energy applied to the head, such as from mobile phones and cordless phones. However, with the increase in wireless devices other than mobile phones, there has been a growing demand for Body SAR testing for the torso (excluding the head), particularly in the United States. UL Japan has introduced DASY5, which can test Head SAR and Body SAR in the frequency range of 250 MHz to 5.8 GHz. Additionally, we provide mobile device test sets to test mobile terminals and information devices that use GSM, CDMA, and LTE standards.
