As a company aiming to be environmentally friendly, we started with the desire to do something about the large amount of used PET bottles generated! At Midori, we have been conducting experiments and research to see if PET bottles can be used as plant pots. We looked into factors such as the size of the bottles and the number of seedlings... We found that two plants can grow sufficiently in a 2-liter PET bottle. Additionally, since each plant is separated, weeds are less likely to grow, and diseases are less likely to spread to neighboring plants, allowing the plants to thrive.
