Free membership registrationWhether at home, at work, or during leisure, our lives are constantly exposed to an increasing number of noise sources. Televisions, kitchen appliances, neighbors, traffic, factories - all of these can contribute to noise pollution. One way to reduce noise pollution is to lower the level of noise sources, but in architectural acoustics, the approach is to block the propagation of sound from the source. Brüel & Kjær offers a complete range of applications used for compliance checks with building regulations and identifying sound insulation deficiencies. For more details, please contact us.

Free membership registrationIndoor acoustics deals with the generation, propagation, perception, measurement, and modeling of sound within indoor spaces. The spaces of interest include homes, offices, workshops, factories, lecture halls, theaters, concert halls, and terminal stations. The most important parameter for expressing the acoustic characteristics of a room is the reverberation time, but other parameters that indicate the quality of music and the intelligibility of conversation are also important. Measurements of indoor acoustics are conducted, for example, to verify the performance of new buildings or to troubleshoot existing buildings. Additionally, modeling of indoor acoustics is performed when planning new buildings or considering renovations of existing ones. For more details, please contact us.

Free membership registrationEnvironmental noise and vibration are unwanted sounds and vibrations generated from various sources such as factories, roads, railways, construction sites, and aircraft. In addition to the above, noise also comes from numerous sources such as sports facilities, shooting ranges, and amusement parks. Since these sources have different characteristics, experts face individual issues when evaluating them. The handling of such problems varies significantly by country and is heavily dependent on culture, economy, and politics. Brüel & Kjær provides solutions for all requirements, from checking noise and vibration levels to detailed analysis, from measurement to prediction, and from post-processing to report preparation. Free membership registrationAs noise control issues and sound quality have become important aspects of product design, acoustic material testing has become increasingly relevant for engineers, designers, and manufacturers across various industries. Acoustic material testing is conducted to measure the acoustic properties of materials (such as absorption coefficient, reflection coefficient, impedance, and admittance). There are various methods for measuring the acoustic properties of materials. It is necessary to place the material in a known sound field and measure the impact of the material on that sound field. There are a series of standards (such as JIS A1405-2 (ISO 10534-2), ASTM E1050-08, ASTM E2611-09, etc.) that clearly define special equipment to ensure acoustic conditions, accuracy, and reproducibility for material testing. Free membership registrationThe term "quality" is generally associated with expensive and high-end products. Today, the quality of products has become a cornerstone for suppliers and sub-suppliers. Customers have demands and expectations. In manufacturing, a great deal of effort is devoted to optimizing design and manufacturing methods to achieve quality. However, various mistakes that occur during assembly can manifest as unacceptable noise and vibration levels in the finished product. To prevent such situations, the only solution is to verify whether the product meets the requirements at the final stage of the manufacturing line. This is what is known as manufacturing line testing, where all units are inspected during the manufacturing process. For more details, please contact us.

Free membership registrationThe importance of evaluating the sound quality of noise generated during the comprehensive quality assessment of products has never been higher. In various products ranging from automobiles to manual tools, not only the level of noise emitted by the product but also its sound quality influences purchasing intentions. A suitable sound can even lead to increased sales. Many factors are beginning to affect the sound quality evaluation process. Traditional objective measurements and analyses, such as A-weighted sound pressure levels and FFT analysis, are not sufficient for analyzing product sound. Ultimately, it is the human ear that determines the quality of sound, making customer surveys and sensory evaluation tests important for establishing acceptable ranges of sound quality. Free membership registrationStructural analysis is a field of engineering that deals with the behavior of structures subjected to dynamic loads (vibrations). While it is possible to accurately predict the behavior of structures under static loads, dynamic loads require parameters that are difficult to model, such as structural damping. Therefore, to accurately determine the response of structures to dynamic loads, it is necessary to conduct some form of structural analysis test, such as a modal test. Modal testing allows for the experimental determination of the modal parameters of a structure. Modal parameters include resonance frequency, damping, and mode shapes. The resonance frequency is the frequency at which the response is amplified significantly beyond the applied excitation force. When the excitation force is close to the structure's resonance frequency, it often leads to adverse effects, making it important to know the resonance frequency. Excessive vibrations caused by resonance can lead to fatigue failure, damage to delicate parts of the structure, and in extreme cases, structural collapse. For more details, please contact us.

Free membership registrationThe "Vibration Calibration Exciter Model 4294" is equipped with a built-in electromagnetic exciter and operates at a frequency of 159.15 Hz (1000 rad s-1) using a quartz oscillator. A small acceleration pickup is mounted on the bottom surface of the vibration plane, and feedback control is employed to maintain a constant and precise vibration level, regardless of the mass of the transducer being calibrated (up to 70 grams for Model 4294 and up to 200 grams for Model 4294-002). If a transducer exceeding the specified mass is attached to the vibration table, the power supply of the calibrator will automatically be cut off to avoid overload. The usage is very simple. First, attach the target transducer to the vibration plane of the calibrator using a steel stud (YQ 2963) with a 10-32 UNF thread. Additionally, by using the included 10-gram mounting adapter (DB 2996), transducers manufactured with a mounting screw diameter of 3 mm can be easily attached, or they can be mounted with the included magnet UA 0642. This mounting adapter is also convenient for securing transducers with bead wax or instant adhesive.

Free membership registration1-inch and 1/2-inch microphones adequately cover many noise measurements based on IEC, ISO, and ANSI standards, but there is a growing demand for noise measurements at levels lower than these noise floors. In such cases, Brüel & Kjær's Type 4955 is the optimal choice. It combines a total titanium laser-welded diaphragm and a 1/2" microphone cartridge with optimized self-noise, along with a low-noise preamplifier with a gain of 20dB. As a result, this system is highly sensitive, with excellent long-term stability and outstanding corrosion resistance. The 4955 TEDS microphone has a representative noise level of 5.5dB A-weighted sound pressure level, allowing it to adequately measure up to 10dB A-weighted sound pressure levels. ● For more details, please download the catalog or contact us.
