To the pump manufacturer, we would like to introduce a case study of the design and construction of a local exhaust hood. In this case, the manufacturer was experiencing an accumulation of odors from organic solvents used during cleaning in the work area, which was affecting the working environment. Therefore, we conducted a site survey and designed the hood (custom-made to minimize disruption to the existing workflow based on interviews with the users), and handled the installation of equipment and the electrical control panel as a comprehensive package. With the improvement of odors, we also introduced an activated carbon filter unit, which addressed concerns for the surrounding area, and we were able to maintain the first management category in the working environment, leading to an overall improvement. We would like to introduce a case study of local exhaust hood design and construction carried out for a manufacturer of fragrances. At this manufacturer, the odors from fragrance raw materials and solvents were pervasive, and the exhaust equipment was insufficient, resulting in a poor working environment for the workers. Therefore, we implemented odor control measures while ensuring the workflow by custom-making hoods at various locations, including comprehensive design and construction. We would like to introduce a case where a materials manufacturer implemented local exhaust systems for manufacturing equipment. The manufacturer was using solvent-based adhesives in their material manufacturing equipment and faced issues with odors generated from the solvent filling area. Although measures were taken with existing equipment, the exhaust capacity was insufficient, leading to solvent odors leaking into the work area.
