We respond to our customers' needs from planning and design to manufacturing and servicing of automated equipment and appearance inspection devices.
Our founding business is the design and manufacturing of watches and precision instruments, which is our strength and DNA. Through the manufacturing of watches and precision instruments, we have honed our precision machining and assembly technologies, challenged ourselves to create our own watch manufacturing lines, and cultivated automation technologies. In recent years, we have also been working on the development of image recognition technologies, quality control and process management systems, and highly efficient production systems for a wide variety of products. By providing these to customers in the global manufacturing industry, we continue to grow centered around the industrial products business area focused on precision instrument parts and automation equipment, aiming to become an indispensable presence in our customers' products and manufacturing processes.
Business Activities
The roots of Ricoh Elemex's equipment manufacturing technology lie in the production equipment for wristwatches. It can be said to be the culmination of production technology and production equipment design. Additionally, Ricoh Elemex is both an equipment manufacturer and a parts manufacturer. Naturally, it has introduced a number of its own equipment for parts processing. This means that, while being an equipment manufacturer, it also shares the same perspective as its customers who adopt the equipment. To meet customer needs, we think from the customer's standpoint and utilize the precision positioning technology and shaft control technology cultivated in wristwatch manufacturing to provide equipment that achieves high precision, high speed, miniaturization, and high reliability. Furthermore, the image recognition technology developed for positioning parts has now evolved into inspection devices for metal parts and glossy products, contributing to the improvement of in-process quality, particularly in the automotive industry.
