In Fukui Prefecture, the "Fukui Prefecture Science and Academic Award" is presented to individuals who have significantly contributed to the development of science and technology or academic research within the prefecture, thereby greatly contributing to its advancement. This time, for contributions to the development of the hybrid drill "CFRTP, GFRTP, UD materials Hybrid Drill 'Zero Valley Fiber'" in the field of chemistry, which specializes in drills designed for materials that are weak and soft like thermoplastic resins, our company, Giken Co., Ltd. (Yoshikazu Ishikawa), received the Special Award!
The Grand Prize was awarded to Hirotaka Uchiki, Vice President of Fukui University and Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, for his achievements in advancing basic research leading to the development of therapeutic drugs for amyloidosis, a specified intractable disease that causes conditions such as Alzheimer's disease.
This award is positioned as a "mini-Nobel Prize for Fukui Prefecture," and achievements in five fields: "Physics," "Chemistry," "Biology," "Medicine and Physiology," and "Economics" are eligible. We hope to take this opportunity to further enhance the development of the hybrid drill (Zero Valley).
