The hydraulic bolt tensioner "Boltight," a member of the Nord-Lock Group, was born as an evolved version re-invented by the engineer Fred Heaton, who originally developed the tensioner, to address the challenges faced by the tensioner itself. These challenges include common disadvantages of hydraulic tools like tensioners, such as being "too heavy and difficult to work with," "leaking oil after repeated use," and "not being able to be installed in tight spaces."
