Speaking at the 'NEXT Kansai Innovation Meeting' on October 4th.

テムザック テムザック 本店・中央研究所
On October 4, 2024 (Friday), our Executive Director, Junichi Setoguchi, will speak at the "NEXT Kansai Innovation Meeting 2024 - 'Agriculture' x 'Future' -," hosted by the Kinki Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry. Today, the aging of agricultural workers and the lack of successors are significant factors contributing to the expansion of abandoned farmland, which has become a pressing issue. This trend is particularly pronounced in hilly and mountainous areas. At Temzac, we are challenging the labor-saving of agriculture through "group robots" and aiming to build services that are "remote" and "low-effort" using robots. This time, under the title "Challenge to Suppress the Expansion of Abandoned Farmland through Agricultural Robots," I will discuss our efforts towards labor-saving using robotic technology. We look forward to your participation. ■ Target Audience: Small and medium-sized enterprises, venture companies, mid-sized and large corporations, universities, research institutions, local governments, industrial support organizations, technology support organizations, financial institutions, and experts (lawyers, patent attorneys, etc.) interested in technology collaboration and open innovation based on seeds. ■ Organizer: Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Kinki Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry

First harvest of WORKROID rice utilizing robot technology.

Effort-saving leads to a bountiful harvest! Significantly reduce labor hours in rice cultivation and achieve agriculture that doesn't rely on the land.

Temzack Co., Ltd. conducted its first harvest at a field in Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture, where it is practicing "WORKROID Agriculture" using robotic technology. WORKROID Agriculture is a labor-saving farming method implemented by our company that can be undertaken even by those without agricultural experience. Despite significantly reducing the labor hours spent on rice cultivation compared to traditional farming, we successfully harvested nearly 400 kg per 10 ares of rice. This confirmed the potential to realize the goals of WORKROID Agriculture, such as "labor-saving" and "farming that does not stick to the land." [Future Prospects] - Establish a labor-saving agriculture system that can handle everything from rice cultivation for rice flour to the distribution of rice flour, and spread it nationwide. - Aim to stop the expansion of abandoned farmland and contribute to maintaining Japan's food self-sufficiency and food security. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

[Seminar] Design and Operation of Civil Liability and Governance in AI Development and Use

  • NEW
  • SEMINAR_EVENT

[Instructor] Yuichiro Kabushiki, Partner Lawyer at TMI Comprehensive Law Office [Key Lecture Content] With the spread of AI, there is growing attention on the civil liability of developers, providers, and users of AI. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will publish "Guidelines on the Interpretation and Application of Civil Liability in AI Utilization" in April 2026, and the Ministry of Justice will also establish an expert meeting to examine civil liability related to unauthorized use of images and voices generated by AI in the same month. As the full enforcement of the AI Promotion Act and the revision of AI guidelines are underway, it is necessary to design and operate governance based on the potential responsibilities that may arise retrospectively. In this seminar, based on the guidelines from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and drawing on litigation practice experience as a judge and lawyer, we will organize the basic framework for assessing civil liability and explain fundamental methods for designing and operating governance based on risk analysis. Furthermore, we will examine the framework for civil liability and the design and operation of governance using hypothetical cases that are likely to pose practical issues.
