In contrast, notch filters (band-stop filters) are deposition products designed to periodically change the refractive index in the thickness direction. A characteristic feature is that no optically unnecessary ripple occurs outside the stopband. We can achieve optical characteristics that were not possible with previous optical thin film processing. At Itsuki Seiko Glass, we have developed filter glass substrates in the IHU series that have a transmission limit wavelength in the ultraviolet range and improved weather resistance to ultraviolet light. Recently, we have successfully deposited dielectric multilayer films to create bandpass filters in the ultraviolet region, as shown in the chart (measured data).
