[Seminar] The Future Opened by Wireless Power Transfer and Ultra-Fast Charging

[Lecturer]
Kraisorn Thronnamchai, Advisory Professor, Bangkok University
[Key Lecture Content]
The further spread of electric vehicles (EVs) requires innovation in charging technology. This lecture will focus on "wireless power transfer" and "ultra-fast charging" as next-generation charging technologies that dramatically enhance the convenience and efficiency of EVs, explaining their latest trends and future outlook.
Wireless power transfer enables non-contact charging while parked and power supply during driving, significantly reducing the hassle of charging. Currently, technological development is progressing towards improving efficiency and reducing costs, with practical implementation on the horizon. On the other hand, ultra-fast charging is a technology that enables long-distance travel with a charging time of around 5 minutes or less, where the fusion of next-generation batteries and high-output charging infrastructure is key.
These technologies will transform the EV user experience and contribute to energy management and smart city initiatives. The lecture will also discuss technical challenges and pathways to social implementation, envisioning the realization of a sustainable mobility society.
