We would like to introduce a case study of the design and development of a "DC/DC converter" built into a railway safety device that our company designed and developed. Initially, we planned to use standard products upon receiving the design request for the safety device. However, the customer expressed a desire to "also pass the device's signals through the cable supplying voltage to the device," which led them to consult us for a custom product. We designed and developed a converter that meets the customer's requirements, and they were very satisfied with the result. This is a case study of a DC/DC converter (module for VME 3U size) that supports ultra-wide input. At the customer's request, they wanted to cover multiple models with DC24V/48V/72V/110V, but due to cost issues and the complexity of purchase management, they consulted about wanting to consolidate into one model. Additionally, for overseas products, it was necessary to switch control circuits for each input voltage range. The "Hyper CLT Mats" are civil engineering CLT products that utilize wood CLT as temporary materials. Traditionally, steel plates have been the mainstream choice for temporary roads, access routes, and heavy machinery yards. The Hyper CLT Mats introduce a new option of "wood" to that market. The 5x10 mats weigh approximately 230 kg, making them lightweight and easy to install and remove with small machinery, with a maximum capacity of 40 mats on a 10-ton truck. Metal cracks are one of the concerns in equipment maintenance operations. Repairs using conventional welding methods can alter the base material around the crack due to heat, leading to residual stress and deformation, which always carries the risk of "crack recurrence" or "secondary damage." Hinode Waterworks Equipment Co., Ltd.'s "Mechanical Stitching Method" is a new technique that allows for the repair of metal cracks without applying heat. By using special bolts and reinforcement plates, the crack is physically removed without affecting the base material with heat.
