Overview of ISCC Certification (Sustainability Carbon Certification) and the Auditor's Perspective

Expanding ISCC/ISCC PLUS certification globally. Assessment by Japanese examiners is possible.

ISCC refers to the sustainability carbon certification ISCC, which is a sustainability certification program for biomass and recycled raw materials developed through an open process by multi-stakeholders including industry organizations, think tanks, and NGOs from around the world. ISCC PLUS refers to products outside the EU, covering not only biofuels and products but also recycled raw materials and products, food, feed, and technical and chemical applications. Bureau Veritas is certified for ISCC PLUS, which targets biomass raw materials and products as well as recycled raw materials and products outside the EU, ISCC EU, which targets the biofuel market within the EU, and ISCC CORSIA, which is a carbon offset and GHG reduction scheme for the aviation industry. For Japanese customers, assessments can be conducted in Japanese by Japanese auditors.

This technology not only contributes to the spread of environmentally friendly hydrogen energy but also promotes carbon neutrality from both the material aspect, by using plant-derived resins, and the manufacturing process. In addition to being able to check actual product samples, our staff will explain the technology overview using poster panels and other materials.

In advancing sustainable business activities, there is a demand for the reduction of petroleum-derived materials and the utilization of recycled materials and bio-based materials. Until now, the acquisition of certification has primarily progressed among chemical companies and trading firms, but there is an increasing number of cases where requests for certification are made to business partners in order to connect the supply chain.
