[Key Lecture Content]
Is autonomous driving really "almost complete"? This seminar will directly address that question from a cost perspective rather than a technical one. While Level 4 autonomous driving is indeed approaching practical implementation, the establishment of technology and the sustainability of the business are separate issues.
We will examine robo-taxis, highway-only trucks, and route buses, organizing the total costs, including not only operational costs but also the expenses required to prove and maintain the ODD (Operational Design Domain), to determine which areas are truly sustainable. Additionally, we will discuss whether applying Level 4 to passenger cars holds realistic value for users.
Through this analysis, we will clarify the limitations of Level 4, highlighting why Level 5 is extremely challenging. Furthermore, we will outline realistic milestones for the advancement of autonomous driving by 2036, providing specific perspectives for investment, policy, and management decisions.
