"Smart Contact Lens Development Platform" Prototype Schedule for Fiscal Year 2026 Released and Prototype Application Acceptance Begins
Seed Corporation has released the prototype schedule for the "Smart Contact Lens Development Platform," which aims to accelerate research and development of next-generation wearable devices, for the fiscal year 2026.
Smart contact lenses are expected to be the next generation of wearable devices or semi-implantable devices, and this platform is an initiative to facilitate smoother research and development. Since the start of acceptance last year, we have received significant interest, and in January 2026, we achieved our first paid shipment to a domestic research institution.
The main feature is the establishment of a common architecture that is independent of the target device, and the realization of the lowest possible cost through "shuttle-type prototyping," which allows multiple projects to proceed simultaneously. The delivery format can be flexibly adapted to meet requests, including flexible substrates with electronic components or contact lenses that incorporate them.
Two rounds of prototyping are planned for the fiscal year 2026, with the application deadlines set for the first round on May 29 and the second round on November 30. We are also accepting consultations from the planning stage at any time. For detailed content and contact information, please refer to the attached materials. We look forward to your inquiries regarding specific implementation considerations and introductions.
