This lecture will introduce the initiatives of the Shipbuilding and Ocean Renaissance International Collaboration Center (SORIC), established in June 2026 at the Graduate School of Comprehensive Scientific Research at Yokohama National University.
First, I will discuss the challenges of revitalizing the shipbuilding industry through next-generation shipbuilding systems utilizing AI, robotics, and digital twins. Furthermore, based on shipbuilding technology, I will introduce challenges related to new marine utilization, such as renewable ocean energy and next-generation marine space utilization. Through international collaboration and human resource development initiatives, I will provide insights into the future of the shipbuilding and ocean industry.
