[Key Lecture Content]
In recent years, grid-scale energy storage systems have garnered significant interest as a new energy business, but some argue that it may be a bubble. While there are a large number of projects under consideration for grid connection, it has been pointed out that it often takes a considerable amount of time to finalize connection contracts. Additionally, the main revenue comes from the supply-demand adjustment market, but changes in market rules have made it difficult to predict future revenue opportunities. In any case, it is expected that the business environment will undergo significant changes.
While examining the situation overseas, the structure of the Japanese market, and the future of the power system, I would like to deliberately consider the post-grid energy storage systems.
