[Lecturer]
Takeshi Oshima, Deputy General Manager, Advanced Technology Lab, Japan Research Institute, Ltd.
[Key Lecture Content]
Biological signals obtained from the human body, such as brain activity, heart rate, pulse waves, respiration, gaze, and skin electrical activity, are becoming important data resources that support the next generation of digital society, beyond the fields of medicine and healthcare, based on appropriate data governance. In recent years, alongside the miniaturization, cost reduction, high precision, and diversification of sensors, rapid technological advancements combining biological signals with AI have led to the emergence of new services and businesses worldwide that continuously understand and support human conditions and internal changes.
Taking these technological and market trends into account, we will explore five future societies that are highly likely to be realized by 2030, as well as the technologies that support their realization, initiatives from various countries, market trends, and challenges toward social implementation. Considering the progress of technology in this field, it is believed that the international competitive environment surrounding biological signal technology will be significantly shaped by 2030, and there is an urgent need to advance technology development, rule formation, and social implementation in an integrated manner.
