Fluoropolymer was discovered by DuPont in the 1930s and introduced to the market under the trademark name "Teflon." Fluoropolymer possesses excellent physical, chemical, and electrical properties that cannot be obtained from other industrial materials, and its applications now range widely from everyday household kitchen appliances to cutting-edge space equipment. The unique properties of fluoropolymer are attributed to its structure, which is based on a polymer of carbon-carbon bonds surrounded by highly stable fluoropolymer, resulting in its inertness. Fluorine atoms bond stably to carbon-carbon compounds and do not detach due to chemical reactions, making them particularly stable against heat. Recently, the varieties have increased to over 20, and depending on the structural characteristics of each polymer, properties such as non-stickiness, low friction, weather resistance, and elasticity have been added.
