In civil engineering sites, steel plates have traditionally been the standard, but in recent years, more companies are choosing wooden mats to suit site conditions. Hyper CLT mats, utilizing wood CLT as civil engineering materials, are being introduced for a wide range of applications including public works, temporary roads, access routes, material yards, and temporary parking lots. The reasons for their selection are not simply because they are "made of wood." The 5×10 panels weigh about 230 kg, making them lightweight and easy to install and remove even with small machinery, with a maximum capacity of 40 panels on a 10-ton truck. This also leads to improvements in workability and transportation efficiency. Furthermore, they add different values to the site compared to steel plates, such as reducing glare and radiant heat, noise control, CO2 fixation, and consideration for aesthetics. They can be partially used only where needed, allowing for differentiation in use from steel plates. This technology is registered with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism under NETIS, with the registration number "TH-250021-A." The introduction of Hyper CLT mats is expanding as a new option that combines wood, NETIS, and civil engineering.
