Anti-slip (slip-resistant) coating material "Slip Rate Σ (Sigma) 02"

We would like to introduce an ideal anti-slip solution for areas that are constantly wet with oil or water, such as factories, warehouses, and kitchens. This time, we are presenting the anti-slip coating for the factory floor of a certain manufacturer that produces agricultural machinery. *Please refer to the attached image.* The process involves cleaning and degreasing, applying a primer, coating with Slip Rate Σ03 composite material, and curing. Since this area has relatively low oil exposure, we finished it with a thickness of 2mm. It is permeable, so even if oil drips onto the surface, it remains rough and slip-resistant. If there is a large amount of oil or water, we can increase the thickness or use larger aggregate sizes to accommodate that. Additionally, it has sufficient strength to withstand the passage of forklifts and trucks.

February 2006 Slip-resistant processing was performed on the ceramic tile (polished) floors of the 1st floor, B1 floor, and B2 floor of Kintetsu Department Store Uehonmachi using the Slip Out (ME method). Due to the polished ceramic tile flooring, it was a very slippery and dangerous material when wet. The advantages of polished ceramic tiles, such as their hard material, glossiness, beauty, and ease of cleaning maintenance, were the main factors contributing to the slipperiness. In response to the request from the management to suppress slipperiness without changing the gloss, beauty, or appearance of the polished ceramic tiles, we implemented a method using Slip Out (ME method) to create macro-level holes (widening the gaps) in the flooring material. *Latest slip-resistant ceramic tiles https://ceramictile-suberidome.t-ground.co.jp/ At first glance, it is difficult to distinguish whether the ceramic tile is polished or coated with a silicone-based resin. In our group, we can stop slipperiness while maintaining the luxurious feel, color, gloss, and cleanliness by using a special solvent that penetrates the coating of not only polished ceramic tiles but also coated ceramic tiles.

In September 2009, anti-slip treatment was applied to the surface of the loop slope of a pedestrian bridge located in Harayamadai, Minami Ward, Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, using Slip Rate Sigma 01. The slope of the loop was approximately 9.5%, and due to its steepness, there were frequent incidents of pedestrians slipping and falling on rainy days. The administrator requested that the color of the base material be matched with a similar color, so Slip Rate Sigma 01 was used, and aggregates (AJ-01) were spread at a rate of 1 kg per square meter to match the base color for the anti-slip processing.

In July 2007, a slip-resistant treatment was applied using Slip Rate Sigma 01 to the grating covers of the connecting bridge from 3-chome to 4-chome in Ibukino, Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture. Grating covers were installed on the sloped connecting passage, and many people were falling on rainy days, which led to the construction. Even though there are various types of non-slip grating covers, those with bumps are effective as slip resistance for soft rubber footwear, but for hard-soled shoes (sports shoes, leather shoes), the bumps do not grip well, resulting in a smaller contact area that increases the risk of slipping and is very dangerous. Currently, the truly effective non-slip grating is one that has ribs shaped like a Y (or a wine bottle) with embedded aggregates, but it is expensive and not commonly used. However, by applying our Slip Rate Sigma 01 method for slip resistance treatment, it became more cost-effective than replacement, leading to its adoption.
