(Effective for power conditioners and UPS power supplies as well) Transformer losses can be broadly categorized into two types: "no-load loss," which occurs regardless of load, and "load loss," which varies with load current. No-load loss primarily consists of iron loss occurring in the core. Load loss, known as copper loss, is the resistance loss due to the resistance of the transformer windings caused by load current. Amorphous transformers focus on minimizing no-load loss among these losses. Since transformers are long-lasting products, reducing no-load loss can lead to significant energy-saving effects.
