Between 1958 and 1959, Dai Nippon Paint Co., Ltd. proposed the idea of separating and independently establishing its Ofuna factory, leading to the creation of its first subsidiary. The company's general affairs department considered and suggested names for the new company, first searching for English documents related to the new company's main product, "fluorescence."
