The immersion time varies depending on the degree of rust: light rust can be removed in about 10 to 30 minutes, rust that has been left for several months can take 30 minutes to 2 hours, and rust that has been left for a long time can take about 2 to 24 hours to remove. For metals, it can be used on iron, aluminum, gold, silver, brass, zinc, titanium, copper, nickel, tungsten, chromium, nickel alloys, and solder. It is also applicable to anodized coatings, chrome plating, nickel plating, general paint coatings (not containing oxidized metals), and powder coating. Additionally, it can be used on rubber, plastic, fabric, glass, and other materials that are not submerged in water. It is also suitable for maintaining fishing gear. Mechanism of rust removal: 1. The special surface treatment agent allows the solution to penetrate into the rust. 2. The chelating agent in the solution interjects between the oxygen ions and iron ions that make up the rust, displacing the oxygen ions and capturing the iron ions. 3. The chelating agent holding the iron ions moves to the side of the solution with lower concentration, while a chelating agent that does not hold iron ions penetrates into the rust. 4. The chelating agents holding iron ions and those not holding iron ions alternately enter and exit the rust, and the process ends when all the rust attached to the metal has been removed.
