Additionally, by trapping debris in these voids, they can reduce the risk of marking on the surface of metal steel plates. These features contribute to reduced downtime from roll replacement and repairs. Furthermore, mill rolls with voids can compress to adapt to any nip thickness. This maintains uniform adhesion across the entire steel plate, reducing the movement and carry-out of liquid agents between consecutive tanks, and decreasing the need for drying. These factors help suppress fluctuations in chemical concentration and contribute to a reduction in chemical usage. The uniform porosity of the mill rolls maintains close contact with the metal steel plates, providing optimal removal functions for oil and water.
