This is the world's first amorphous chrome plating that achieves approximately twice the hardness of hard chrome (Hv 1800) and high corrosion resistance due to its crack-free nature.
[Features] ● It has an amorphous structure and possesses characteristics different from conventional crystalline plating. ● Through heat treatment, the hardness can reach up to a maximum of Hv 1800, which is about twice that of hard chrome plating. ● There are no cracks up to a thickness of about 5μm, resulting in good corrosion resistance. ● It has approximately 3 to 6 times the corrosion resistance compared to hard chrome plating against chemicals such as hydrochloric acid.

[Features] ■Corrosion Resistance Generally, chrome plating is excellent in corrosion resistance due to the formation of a passive film; however, the presence of cracks and pinholes can lead to the formation of localized batteries depending on the usage environment, resulting in corrosion progressing from the base material or the underlying plating. Corrosion is particularly severe in the presence of halogen factors, such as chlorine, which can destroy the passive film. However, with "Cloamore," which achieves crack-free performance, the progression of corrosion caused by halogen factors like chlorine is significantly slowed. For example, when hydrochloric acid (1:1) is used as a corrosive environment, the corrosion rate of "Cloamore" at the time of deposition is about 1/3 that of chrome plating, and this rate decreases to 1/6 with heat treatment. Additionally, in salt spray tests, "Cloamore" at 5μm demonstrates corrosion resistance equivalent to that of 100μm chrome plating.

It is superior to chlorides, sulfides, artificial sweat, and erosion corrosion compared to conventional chrome plating. Therefore, it is used for components with significant corrosion wear, mechanical parts in fuel systems, and corrosion protection of copper alloys.
