Boron-based flame retardant. Non-halogen and non-phosphorus. A water-soluble flame retardant with high effectiveness on cellulose. Also possesses wood preservation and termite prevention properties.
This is a high-concentration aqueous solution of sodium polyborate, primarily made from boric acid. Through a special manufacturing process, boric acid, which previously did not dissolve in water, is now dissolved at high concentrations. It contains no organic solvents and is composed solely of sodium polyborate and water. It exhibits a high flame retardant effect on cellulose and was originally developed as a flame retardant solution for the production of non-combustible wood. In recent years, evaluations have begun for various materials, not only cellulose-based materials but also including resins. Additionally, it demonstrates excellent effectiveness in wood preservation and termite prevention, and due to its extremely low toxicity, it is significantly easier to handle compared to existing termite agents.

Applications/Examples of results
We are a manufacturer of water-based boron-based flame retardants and wood preservatives for termites, originating from a disaster recovery NPO. Our products are extremely safe and highly effective on materials made from pulp, such as paper and cardboard. Additionally, they can simultaneously provide wood with preservative and termite-repellent properties. As a termite agent, our products demonstrate high effectiveness against the American wood-boring termite, which traditional products have failed to address. They are inorganic, more effective flame retardants than conventional products, and are characterized by their extremely low toxicity and ease of handling. Our water-based boron-based flame retardants and wood preservatives are particularly effective on cellulose-based materials as flame retardants for non-combustible wood. By applying them to wooden components of historical buildings, railway wood, and ship interiors, we can impart a certain level of flame resistance. Furthermore, as a termite agent, being inorganic and highly safe, with effects that last semi-permanently, our products are increasingly being adopted as standard by local house builders. Future applications are expected in flame-retardant treatments for building materials, paper, cardboard, cellulose nanofibers (CNF), water-based paints, and various other resins. 【Track Record of Transactions and Development with Major Companies】 We have ongoing transactions with major paper manufacturers, major railway companies, major trading companies, and major building material manufacturers.
