During discussions with an automation equipment manufacturer, we caught wind of the information that "a certain component is experiencing early wear and requires countermeasures, but we are struggling to find improvement solutions." Here, we would like to introduce a case where we responded to the client's request for extending the lifespan of conveyor rollers within a limited budget. We recalled that during a project aimed at extending the lifespan of cutting tools, we had formed a metal coating with properties harder than the tool itself on the surface, and decided to proceed with surface treatment considerations. We consulted with Company A, a processing contractor renowned for its expertise in surface modification technology, and under the theme of "creating low-cost rollers specialized for wear resistance," both companies discussed the manufacturing process. Next, we explained the manufacturing process to the automation equipment manufacturer and moved on to prototype evaluation. As a result, a low-cost and high-performance product was completed.
