The "Hexa Plate SD" is designed to be installed on the side of horizontal members, reducing interference with hold-down hardware and similar components. With a thickness of 0.6mm (compared to the conventional brace plates which are 2.3mm), it does not require notching, allowing for direct attachment of structural sheathing and similar materials over the hardware.
