All valves from FAMAT are based on the patented "EXPANDING PISTON TECHNOLOGY." In this patented system, a piston coated with PTFE expands, ensuring airtightness from vacuum up to 10 bar (145 psi). The advantage of the expandable piston is that it does not require an O-ring, which can be damaged during operation, thus preventing contamination of the product. Another advantage is that when the piston is closed, it is flush with the connection point, eliminating dead space.
