【Technical Information】 Poster Presentation Materials for the 18th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine In recent years, the practical application of regenerative medicine has progressed, and the currently approved regenerative medicine products are either transported short-term at room temperature or frozen using costly liquid nitrogen. Considering the stability of cells and long-term transportation, it is preferable for cells to be transported in a frozen state. Therefore, it is believed that future regenerative medicine products will primarily be transported in a frozen state. However, the transportation method using liquid nitrogen incurs high costs, and receiving institutions also require liquid nitrogen tanks and ultra-low temperature freezers, which increases management costs. In light of this, we investigated the possibility of using our cryoprotectant solution CP-1 to freeze human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC), which are expected to be utilized in future regenerative medicine, and to achieve stable long-term transportation using inexpensive and simple dry ice.
