It is a type of electric thermal spraying that generates an arc discharge (electric spark) between two metal wires, using the discharge energy to melt the wires. The wires are fed in accordance with the melting speed, and the molten metal is atomized by compressed air and continuously sprayed onto the substrate to form a film. Compared to the flame spraying method, it has a higher spraying capacity (amount of film formed per hour), and since the spraying material is sufficiently melted at high temperatures, it has a high adhesion to the substrate.
