The British company Pressure Welding Machines (PWM) is the market leader in the cold welding machine (cold welder) industry. Cold welding is a method of joining non-ferrous metals by butting wires together and applying pressure to remove oxide films and impurities. Since it does not use heat, the characteristics of the material in the welded area can be preserved. Operators can easily perform the welding by simply stepping on a foot pedal, which minimizes variability due to operator differences. Because the welding is done using air pressure, a sufficient amount and pressure of air is required. By connecting the wire wound on the next carrier before drawing, continuous production is possible. Not only round wires but also flat wires and other shaped wires can be welded. Additionally, by joining different sizes together, it is possible to reduce production loss before the twisting process.
