Evaluation of the ability to produce oil! Exploration assessments such as sedimentary basin modeling are being advanced.
Source rock refers to the type of rock that can generate petroleum. Source rock is one element of the petroleum system, and without source rock, oil and gas fields cannot exist. The ability of source rock is primarily evaluated based on three factors: the amount of organic matter, the type of organic matter, and the maturity level. Each of these is assessed using instruments such as elemental analyzers, Rock Eval analysis devices, and microscopes for measuring vitrinite reflectance, utilizing rock samples collected from the surface and cuttings obtained from wells as foundational data for oil and gas exploration. [Evaluation and Analysis] ■ Evaluation of organic matter quantity (TOC analysis) ■ Evaluation of organic matter type (Rock Eval pyrolysis analysis) ■ Evaluation of maturity level (vitrinite reflectance measurement) ■ Analysis of activation energy distribution *For more details, please visit our company website / Technical Services (https://www.japex.co.jp/technology/service.html) or refer to the PDF materials, or feel free to contact us.

basic information
【Three Elements of Source Rock Analysis】 ■ Amount of Organic Matter: The more organic matter there is, the more oil and gas is generated. ■ Type of Organic Matter: Types that generate oil and types that generate gas. ■ Maturity of Organic Matter: Whether the generation of oil and gas has finished or is still ongoing. *For more details, please visit our company website / Technical Services (https://www.japex.co.jp/technology/service.html) or refer to the PDF materials, or feel free to contact us.
