These are hazardous and harmful substances for which the implementation of risk assessment is mandated under Article 57-3 of the Labor Safety and Health Act. ◆ What are the obligations of businesses regarding substances subject to risk assessment? Businesses must minimize the extent to which workers are exposed to substances subject to risk assessment by the following methods (effective from April 1, 2023): 1. Use alternatives or substitutes. 2. Install and operate equipment that seals off the source of emission, local exhaust systems, or general ventilation systems. 3. Improve work methods. 4. Use effective respiratory protective equipment.
