The red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector" prevents red rust deterioration inside air conditioning pipes, ensuring the long-term longevity of the pipes and proactively preventing asbestos issues.
The building housing the famous bookstore in Shinjuku is always bustling with many people. About 20 years ago, we were troubled by the deterioration of the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping due to red rust. Because asbestos was used in the ceiling, it was practically impossible to carry out piping replacement work. As an alternative to replacing the piping, we introduced the 'NMR Pipe Protector,' a device that can be installed on the outside of the piping to extend its lifespan by over 40 years. A pipe inspection, which involves removing a section of the piping for examination, was conducted 19 months after the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector. The results showed no signs of red rust corrosion on the inner surface of the piping, and the transformation of red rust to black rust was confirmed, indicating a very good condition of the piping.
