I will introduce the classification of transformers based on their structure. Transformers are constructed using a combination of a core and windings. "External core transformers (including wound core types)" have two or more magnetic circuits surrounding the windings. They have an appearance where the core is located outside the windings. "Internal core transformers" have a single magnetic circuit with windings arranged around it.
