High-speed, high-precision 3D vision! Robot-assisted system equipped with a 3D camera for safe nuclear waste disposal.
The decommissioning of nuclear facilities presents significant challenges for operators. In hazardous environments, remote-controlled industrial robots are preferred. However, complex tasks such as gripping and cutting unknown objects using joysticks and video surveillance cameras can be difficult to control and may even be impossible. To simplify this process, the University of Birmingham in the UK is researching automated handling methods for nuclear waste. The robot-assisted system developed in this research can perform complex operational tasks through "shared" control, utilizing haptic feedback and visual information provided by the Ensenso 3D camera. Operators are always involved in the control loop and can take over the robot's automated operations in the event of a system failure. 【Features (excerpt)】 ■ Ensenso N35 - GigE interface is versatile and flexible - Compact and robust aluminum housing - Outputs data from all cameras used in multi-camera mode as a single 3D point cloud *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
