SunShell Biphenyl, Prominert Biphenyl, Sunniest Biphenyl
Separation completely different from alkyl group-type stationary phases such as C18 is achieved due to the interactions of π electrons (π-π and CH-π interactions).
"Biphenyl" has two benzene rings twisted at approximately 45 degrees, and the biphenyl group exhibits different separation behavior from a single phenyl group as a core-shell. Even when using an aqueous mobile phase that does not contain organic solvents, there is no change in retention. The retention of polar compounds like caffeine increases significantly. Other companies' Biphenyl products mostly use monofunctional silylation reagents, while our "Biphenyl" uses highly acid-resistant trifunctional silylation reagents. Analysis columns with inner diameters of 2.1 mm, 3.0 mm, and 4.6 mm are available for the Prominert Biphenyl with 3.5 µm particles and the SunShell Biphenyl with 2.6 µm particles. Column lengths range from 50 mm to 250 mm.
